Barker boon: One of Sydney’s oldest schools prepares for a modern facelift

It was about designing for young children and thinking about how they would use the space.

Barker College in Hornsby is one of Sydney’s oldest schools and has been going through some great transfortions .

The college is building a new prep school within its existing campus on the Pacific Highway, featuring new classrooms and maker spaces for students from pre-kindergarten to year 1.

This new building will add to Barker College’s existing junior school, and will see all junior students (from Pre-K to year 6) educated in the same campus. Barker’s Pre-K to year 2 students are currently learning in classrooms across the road.
