Islamic College of Melbourne Masterplan

PMDL Architecture & Design was approached to develop a 10 year vision masterplan for the Islamic College of Melbourne’s newly acquired campus at Tarneit, Victoria.

The design response for the College is aimed at developing a school that responds to site context through sensitive orientation of buildings to the northern aspect, protection from prevailing winds, and of a scale that is respectful of future and existing building typologies. Furthermore, the masterplan design aims to provide strong engagement with the public realm through contemporary architectural language that expresses  progressive learning practices.

Our work with ICM since then, spanning two decades, includes a several significant new and refurbished facilities, and – importantly – an ongoing contribution to the stewardship of this outstanding campus. Significant developments include: ICM Admin building, Gymnasium and Senior Block.

Currently underway is the new Library and Canteen facilities. This will be complete in
