Drawing inspiration from the surrounding natural beauty of Saipan and the cultural heritage of the Pacific islands, PMDL Architecture & Design developed a new lounge concept design that uses tones and materials such as bleached timbers, printed floor tiles inspired by Pacific island tattoo patterns and a fresh colour palette of deep blues to express an informal, “island chic” aesthetic.
The design of the lounge is layed out informally with resort style furnishings takes on board the surrounding natural elements of the island. We designed feature pieces such as palm-motif screens that is used as a brand code element throughout the precinct. Inspired by the ocean, the deep green aqua tiles at the pantry area bring that burst of intense colour to the lounge, capturing the ocean and a real sense of place.
The lounge is part of a luxury retail experience PMDL is developing for the client.
